This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of central and
southern Minnesota, and west central Wisconsin.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.

A strong clipper system is forecast to bring accumulating,
potentially heavy, snow to portions central and eastern Minnesota
and western Wisconsin Tuesday through Tuesday night. Currently,
the most likely place for heaviest snow is along and north of
Interstate 94 where a narrow band of 4 to 7 inches of snow is
possible. Areas of light freezing rain are also possible,
particularly over western Minnesota Tuesday morning. Winds will
also become strong with gusts of 30 to 45 mph possible with the
strongest gusts over southwestern and southern Minnesota.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday.

Chances for light snow will exist each day throughout the rest of
the week. Very cold temperatures are also expected Friday night
through Saturday night with wind chill values likely surpassing
20 below zero at night.

evening, leading a light glaze to five hundreths of an inch in ice
accumulations.  Therefore, a Winter Weather Advisory is in
effect.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday

A brief period of sharply reduced visibility due to snow showers
may occur early Wednesday morning.

Strong wind gusts of 45 mph or greater may occur early Wednesday
morning through midday.

Bitterly cold temperatures may occur Saturday and Sunday mornings,
potentially leading to wind chill values of 25 below zero or
lower.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of Lake Superior
and the Nearshore waters of western Lake Superior.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

Conditions will deteriorate this evening as winds shift to the
northeast. A Gale Warning takes effect tonight for the North Shore
waters from Taconite Harbor to Grand Portage, where gusts to 35
knots and waves to 8 feet are expected. Heavy freezing spray is
possible late tonight into Wednesday morning for those areas.
Gusty winds and building waves will make conditions hazardous for
small craft tonight and Wednesday. Small Craft Advisories are in
effect.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday

Gale Warning and Small Craft Advisories remain in effect until 10
am Wednesday. Heavy freezing spray is will remain a concern from
Taconite Harbor to Grand Portage. Small Craft Advisories will be
needed for portions of the North Shore after gales subside.

Winter Weather Advisories are in effect for northeast Minnesota
for light snow and freezing drizzle early this morning.

Winter Storm Warnings and Winter Weather Advisories go into
effect this afternoon and evening across most of northeast
Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin. Heavy snow is expected to
impact travel significantly, particularly for the evening commute,
with snowfall rates nearing one inch per hour for several hours
late this afternoon and this evening in the warning areas.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday

Snow will end from west to east on Wednesday morning, but
hazardous travel may linger on unplowed roads. The primary threat
for the remainder of the week shifts to extreme cold, with
dangerous wind chills expected to develop Friday and persist
through the weekend as arctic air settles over the region.

Iowa, southwest Minnesota, northeast Nebraska, central South
Dakota, east central South Dakota, south central South Dakota and
southeast South Dakota.

Patchy dense fog is possible through sunrise.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday.

Confidence is high in strong winds impacting the area Tuesday
afternoon through Wednesday morning. Wind gusts of 50-60 mph are
expected. Blowing and drifting snow may create travel impacts. A
Winter Storm Watch will be in effect from Noon Tuesday until Noon
Wednesday due the risk of blowing snow reducing visibility down to a
quarter mile at times. Winds will gradually taper off through the
rest of Wednesday.

Beginning Thursday snow chances will return and persist throughout
the rest of the week and weekend. Currently snowfall totals look to
remain light.

Cool temperatures for Wednesday and Thursday, followed by much
colder Arctic air for the weekend. Cold weather headlines may be
needed.

A winter storm develops later tonight continuing through Tuesday
night, with a large range of expected impacts across the region from
accumulating snow, ice, blowing snow, and very strong winds based on
the track of the system. Refer to the latest hazard products for the
latest details.

Much colder temperatures will arrive late week, with a 70 percent
chance for winds chills to drop to -30 or colder.

central South Dakota and northeast South Dakota.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.

Downslope winds off the lee of the Prairie Coteau could result in
areas of blowing and drifting snow and reduced visibility.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday.

Freezing rain will be possible across portions of north central and
northeast South Dakota Tuesday morning before temperatures warm up
enough for precipitation to fall as rain.

Very strong northwest winds are possible Tuesday afternoon through
Tuesday night. Sustained winds in excess of 40 mph, gusting in excess
of 60 mph, are possible over north central South Dakota Tuesday
afternoon into Tuesday night. Over northeast South Dakota and west
central Minnesota sustained winds in excess of 30 mph, gusting in
excess of 45 mph, are possible from early Tuesday evening through
the overnight hours.

If falling snow happens across far northeast South Dakota Tuesday
night into early Wednesday morning while these strong winds are
happening, considerable blowing snow and reduction to visibility
could be possible.
