.DAY ONE...TONIGHT
Very little relief from the heat is expected tonight, with near
record warm lows in the mid to upper 70s. A Heat Advisory remains
in effect area-wide through Monday evening.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY
Dangerous heat continues Monday with afternoon heat index readings
reaching around 100 to 105 degrees. Heat may continue to be at

near daily chances for showers and storms. A few storms Monday
afternoon and evening could become severe, with damaging winds the
primary threat. Heavy rainfall and localized flooding is also

It would appear as though some risk for severe weather and heavy
rainfall is also possible at times Tuesday through Friday. Any
repeated rounds of heavy rainfall could lead to a risk for
flooding. The Cedar, Iowa and Wapsipinicon rivers in eastern
Iowa are especially susceptible to flooding due to ongoing high
water levels from recent heavy rain in the headwaters.
