...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT NORTHWESTERN HALIFAX COUNTY
THROUGH 415 PM EDT...

At 309 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Littleton, or 7 miles west of Roanoke Rapids, moving northeast at 5
mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include...
Roanoke Rapids, Littleton, Weldon, South Weldon, Rosemary, Roanoke
Rapids Lake, and Lake Gaston.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

At 301 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking an area of training
thunderstorms along a line extending from Leasburg to near Roanoke
Rapids. Movement was north at 5 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts in excess of 30 mph. Heavy rain.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Additionally, locally heavy rain is also
         occurring with these storms and may lead to localized
         flooding.

Locations impacted include...
Roanoke Rapids, Henderson, Oxford, Roxboro, Warrenton, Halifax,
Norlina, Littleton, Concord, and Weldon.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
