* Flash Flood Warning for...
Southern Reeves County in southwestern Texas...
* Until 1000 PM CDT.
* At 551 PM CDT, emergency management reported flash flooding from a
creek along County Road 112 to the east of Highway 17. Flash
flooding is already occurring. Showers and thunderstorms continue
to develop across much of southwestern Reeves county which will
likely result in additional areas of flash flooding.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Emergency management reported.
IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
other poor drainage and low-lying areas.
* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Toyah, Balmorhea, Saragosa, Balmorhea Lake, Balmorhea State Park,
Verhalen and Toyahvale.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Northeastern Presidio County in southwestern Texas...
Southwestern Reeves County in southwestern Texas...
* Until 800 PM CDT /700 PM MDT/.
* At 353 PM CDT /253 PM MDT/, Doppler radar indicated showers and
thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Many
locations in the warned area have received heavy rainfall the past
24 hours and additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches in a
short period of time will quickly result in flash flooding of
roads, low water crossings, and low spots in hilly terrain. Flash
flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms
producing flash flooding.

urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

Marfa, Kent, Fort Davis, Balmorhea, Valentine, McDonald
Observatory, Bloys Camp, Davis Mountains State Park, Marfa
Municipal Airport, Camp Mitre Peak, Balmorhea State Park,
Balmorhea Lake, Saragosa, Black Mountain, Indian Lodge, Buffalo
Trail Scout Camp, Fort Davis National Historical Site, Star
Mountain and Toyahvale.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded
roads. Find an alternate route.
Flooding is occurring or is imminent. It is important to know where
you are relative to streams, rivers, or creeks which can become
killers in heavy rains. Campers and hikers should avoid streams or
creeks.

rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are
possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected
to begin shortly.
