River forecasts are based on observed precipitation and forecast
precipitation for the next 24 hours.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.

Rainfall heavier than forecast could cause river levels to rise even
higher than predicted. The National Weather Service will monitor
this developing situation and issue follow up statements as

  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
    ending at 9:29 AM CDT Sunday was 14.7 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 15.2
    feet this evening. It will then fall below flood stage
    Tuesday evening.
  - Flood stage is 11.0 feet.

    midnight tonight. It will then fall below flood stage early
    tomorrow afternoon to 13.5 feet Tuesday morning. It will rise
    to 14.4 feet Tuesday evening. It will then fall again and
    remain below flood stage.

  - At 6:45 AM CDT Sunday the stage was 10.8 feet.
  - Forecast...The river will rise above flood stage this
    afternoon to 31.4 feet tomorrow morning. It will then fall
    tomorrow evening. It will rise to 35.7 feet Thursday morning.
