...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 445 PM CDT THIS AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Portions of central, southwest, and west central Missouri,
  including the following counties, in central Missouri, Benton and
  Hickory. In southwest Missouri, Barton, Cedar, Dade, Greene,
  Jasper, Lawrence and Polk. In west central Missouri, St. Clair and
  Vernon.

* WHEN...Until 445 PM CDT Sunday.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
  Dangerous flows over low-water crossings.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 1039 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
    shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain
    have fallen.
  - This includes the following low water crossings...
    Weaubleau Creek at 350 Road, Brush Creek at 1200 Road, Turkey
    Creek at Jackman Avenue, Hogles Creek at County Road 86, Sons
    Creek at County Road 113, Sinking Creek at County Road 181
    and Clear Creek at Rebel Road.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Lamar, El Dorado Springs, Stockton, Greenfield, Hermitage,
    Osceola, Lockwood, Golden City, Lowry City, Weaubleau,
    Wheatland, Everton, Pittsburg, Montevallo, Dadeville, Jerico
    Springs, Preston, Cross Timbers, Lamar Heights, Collins,
    Roscoe, South Greenfield, Arcola, Vista, Umber View Heights,
    Milford, Gerster, Caplinger Mills, Arnica, Cedar Springs,
    Bearcreek, Filley, Wagoner, Cane Hill, Masters, Bona, Tiffin,
    Olympia, Monegaw Springs and Neola.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Many flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
