Through 7 am, scattered showers with embedded thunderstorms will
move northwest through the distant Straits of Florida and the
nearshore waters surrounding the island chain. The stronger of the
activity is capable of heavy downpours reducing visbilities, wind
gusts of 25 knots, and occasional lightning strikes. Island
communities of the Lower Keys can expect a few hundredths of an inch
in rainfall.
