This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for a portion of eastern Kentucky.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.

Heat index values will reach the upper 90s to lower 100s this
afternoon, which may cause heat impacts especially for vulnerable
populations and those in heat-sensitive industries.

Thunderstorms are possible, especially late this afternoon through
the overnight. A few thunderstorms could produce damaging winds.
Despite the recent abnormally dry conditions, there is also the risk
for excessive rainfall producing localized flooding, with the
greatest threat through late tonight north of Kentucky Highway 80 and
the Hal Rogers Parkway.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday.

Thunderstorms are possible at times Wednesday through Monday, with
the highest probability Wednesday afternoon and evening. Some storms
could produce excessive rainfall causing localized flooding issues,
especially in far eastern Kentucky.

downpours.

Additionally, heat indices are expected to reach the upper 90s to
low 100s this afternoon and evening, unless interrupted by
thunderstorms.

Rounds of showers and thunderstorms on Wednesday may lead to
isolated instances of flash flooding. A few storms could contain
damaging wind potential.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of southern Indiana
and central Kentucky.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity could lead
to heat indices exceeding 100 degrees in much of the region. A
heat advisory remains in effect through the evening hours.

Shower and storm chances will begin to increase tonight ahead of a
frontal boundary. Localized flash flooding is possible, and a
flash flood watch is in effect for portions of southern Indiana
and northern Kentucky starting this evening. Some of the stronger
storms this afternoon into the overnight hours could also produce
gusty winds.


.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday

Storm chances will continue into tomorrow as the frontal boundary
sinks into the region. Localized flash flooding is possible, and
the aforementioned flash flood watch will remain in effect through
early Wednesday afternoon.

Spotters are encouraged to pass along reports of severe weather
and flooding.
