lock and equipment must be removed. Minor flooding will occur on
land adjacent to the east bank of the river.

- At 10:00 AM EDT Wednesday the stage was 40.9 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
late this afternoon to a crest of 43.0 feet just after
midnight tonight. It will then fall below flood stage early
Saturday afternoon.

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...A portion of southeast South Carolina, including the
following counties, Colleton and Dorchester.
* WHEN...Until 200 PM EDT Saturday.
* IMPACTS...Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from
earlier rainfall.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 1225 PM EDT, river gages along the Edisto River north of
Givhans Ferry showed water levels were slowly rising. Water
levels will continue to rise over the next few days as water
caused by rainfall earlier in the week drains into the Edisto
River and nearby waterways. Although widespread, major
flooding will not occur, water may approach or impact homes,
structures and roadways along the river this week. Some
roadways that may be impacted include Biscayne Court.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Cat Hole and Springtown.

* WHAT...Small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is
expected.
* WHERE...A portion of central South Carolina, including the
following counties, Bamberg and Orangeburg.
* WHEN...Until 200 PM EDT Saturday.
* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Expect many
areas of slow moving or standing water.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 1134 AM EDT, river gauge reports upstream along the Edisto
River are above flood stage and water is moving downstream.
Roughly 6-8 inches of rain fell early in the week. The North
Fork of the Edisto River is about to crest, however, water
continues to flow through the South Fork of the Edisto River.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Branchville and mainly rural areas of Orangeburg and Bamberg
Counties.

flooded by Cedar Creek.

boardwalk at Edisto Gardens. Downstream from the Highway 301
bridge, some roads off Chiquita street near the river begin to
flood.
At 10.0 feet, Farmland and lowlands along Highway 301 near
Orangeburg become flooded at stages above 10 ft.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 11:00 AM EDT Wednesday the stage was 8.3 feet.
- Bankfull stage is 7.0 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 11:00 AM EDT Wednesday was 8.3 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 8.5
feet this evening. It will then fall below flood stage Friday
