525 AM CDT Sun Apr 12 2026

This hazardous weather outlook is for portions of Central Kansas,
South Central Kansas and Southeast Kansas.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

Numerous showers and thunderstorms are expected over southeast
Kansas this morning. Some pockets of heavy rain may lead to ponding
of water in low-lying areas.

An isolated thunderstorm or two can`t be ruled out late this
afternoon and evening, mainly west of Interstate 135. If a storm is
able to develop, severe weather is possible.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday

Similar to Sunday, an isolated thunderstorm or two can`t be ruled
out late Monday afternoon and evening. If a storm is able to
develop, severe weather is possible.

Scattered thunderstorms are possible Tuesday afternoon and evening,
and possibly again Wednesday afternoon and evening over southeast
Kansas. Strong to severe thunderstorms capable of all severe
hazards are possible both days. Stay tuned as we refine forecast
details in the coming days.

Another storm system will arrive on Friday bringing the potential
for another rounds of severe storms.

Extreme grassland fire danger is possible west of a line from
Lincoln to Lyons to Harper on Monday and Tuesday during the
afternoon hours, due to very low humidity and gusty southwest winds
behind a dryline.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation is not anticipated today or tonight.

This Outlook is for Northwest and West Central Arkansas as well as
much of Eastern Oklahoma.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.

SEVERE THUNDERSTORM.
RISK...Limited.
AREA...Eastern Oklahoma.
ONSET...This Afternoon.

HEAVY RAIN AND FLASH FLOOD.
RISK...Limited.
AREA...Eastern Oklahoma and Northwest Arkansas.
ONSET...This Morning.

SIGNIFICANT WINDS.
RISK...Limited.
AREA...Eastern Oklahoma and Northwest Arkansas.
ONSET...Late This Morning.

DISCUSSION...
Showers and embedded thunderstorms will move through eastern
Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas this morning and afternoon. As
precipitation decreases this afternoon and evening, there is a
low chance for additional thunderstorm development across eastern
Oklahoma. If any storms develop, they may become strong to severe
and produce large hail and damaging winds. The tornado threat
will likely remain very low, but non-zero. Showers and
thunderstorms today may also produce excessive rainfall, with
localized flash flooding possible in urban areas and locations
which receive the highest rain amounts. Strong south winds
develop today with gusts between 20 and 30 mph.

SPOTTER AND EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT ACTION STATEMENT...
Local Spotter Activation May Be Needed.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday.
MONDAY AND TUESDAY...Thunderstorm Potential...High Wind Potential.
WEDNESDAY...Thunderstorm...High Wind...and Heavy Rain Potential.
THURSDAY...Thunderstorm Potential.
FRIDAY...Thunderstorm Potential...High Wind Potential.
SATURDAY...Thunderstorm Potential.

EXTENDED DISCUSSION...
Thunderstorm chances, and associated severe weather potential,
will continue for the next few days, especially on Tuesday and
Wednesday. Thunderstorm development on Monday remains uncertain,
but if storms do develop, all severe hazards will be possible
including large hail, damaging winds, and at least a low tornado
threat. By Tuesday and Wednesday, a stronger storm system will be
moving into the plains, with much higher thunderstorm chances
areawide. Ingredients will be in place for severe weather both
days, including higher-end hazards. While low storm chances
persist into Thursday, a relative lull is expected before another
storm system brings higher thunderstorm potential Friday and
Saturday.

Webster-Nuckolls-Thayer-
334 AM CDT Sun Apr 12 2026

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for south central Nebraska and
portions of north central Kansas.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.

This afternoon into early this evening, much of our forecast area
will have near-critical fire weather conditions, due to the
combination of west-to-southwest winds gusting at least 20 MPH,
and relative humidity falling to 15 to 25 percent. Near-critical
conditions will be most prevalent within counties along and north
of Interstate 80, and also counties west of Highway 281.

However, of greatest fire weather concern are Valley and Greeley
counties in our far northern forecast area, which appear most
favored to see wind gusts frequently reach at least 25 MPH, thus
meeting critical thresholds. As a result, a Red Flag Warning is in
effect from Noon until 7 PM for Valley and Greeley counties.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday.

On Monday afternoon into early evening, our entire forecast area
will likely have at least near-critical fire weather conditions,
due to the combination of west-to-southwest winds gusting at least
20-25 MPH, and relative humidity falling to 10 to 20 percent.
However, it is looking increasingly-likely that outright-critical
conditions will also likely develop in parts of our
area...particularly our Kansas counties and also several of our
Nebraska counties mainly east of Highway 281...as these areas will
likely see stronger winds gusting at least 25-30 MPH.

Also on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons, it appears that at least
small portions of our forecast area could reach critical fire
weather conditions, and this potential will be monitored over the
coming days.

Our next thunderstorm chances arrive to at least portions of our
forecast area Tuesday afternoon into Tuesday night, but at least
for now, any potential for severe storms appears fairly low.
