MAUI REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH SATURDAY NIGHT...

KAUAI THROUGH SATURDAY NIGHT...

.Medium-period swell will quickly build today as Tropical Storm
Lala approaches from the east. Surf peaks on Saturday well above
the warning threshold for the Big Island and rapidly decreases
Saturday night. For Maui and Molokai, surf peaks this afternoon
into Saturday night a few feet over the warning threshold and
rapidly diminishes by Sunday. For Oahu and Kauai, surf peaks
Saturday night and diminishes Sunday morning.

* WHAT...Large surf of 12 to 16 feet.

* WHERE...East facing shores of Oahu and Molokai.

* WHEN...Until 6 AM HST Sunday.

* IMPACTS...High. Expect very strong breaking waves and powerful
  currents. Waves breaking in channel entrances may make
  navigating the channels dangerous.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Stay away from the shoreline along the affected coasts. Be
prepared for road closures. Postpone entering or leaving channels
affected by the high surf until the surf subsides.

* WHAT...For the Big Island, dangerously large surf increasing
  from 15 to 20 feet this morning to 18 to 22 feet for the
  windward coast and as high as 25 to 30 feet for the southeast
  coast this afternoon. For Maui, dangerously large surf
  increasing from 9 to 12 feet this morning to 14 to 18 feet late
  this evening.

* WHERE...East facing shores of Maui and Big Island.

* WHEN...Until 6 AM HST Sunday.

* IMPACTS...High. Expect very strong breaking waves and powerful
  currents. Waves breaking in channel entrances may make
