TO 6 PM CHST THURSDAY...
...HIGH RIP CURRENT RISK REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 1 PM CHST THIS
AFTERNOON THROUGH THURSDAY AFTERNOON...
* WHAT...Large breaking waves of 9 to 12 feet and dangerous rip
currents expected.
* WHERE...West and north facing reefs of the Marianas.
* WHEN...From 1 PM this afternoon to 6 PM ChST Thursday.
* IMPACTS...Dangerous swimming and surfing conditions and
localized beach erosion. Rip currents can sweep even the best

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...An incoming northerly swell will quickly
build surf along west and north facing reefs today, with surf
reaching hazardous levels of 9 feet this afternoon. Surf is
expected to build up to 12 feet along north facing reefs. Could

Wednesday as the swell wraps around the island.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Rip currents will be life threatening. Inexperienced swimmers
should remain out of the water due to dangerous surf conditions.
If caught in a rip current, relax and float. Don`t swim against
the current. If able, swim in a direction following the
shoreline. If unable to escape, face the shore and call or wave
for help.
