Red Flag Warning

URGENT - FIRE WEATHER MESSAGE
National Weather Service Blacksburg VA
1254 PM EST Sun Dec 28 2025

...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM NOON TO 6 PM EST MONDAY FOR
WIND AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR THE NORTHWEST PIEDMONT OF NORTH
CAROLINA...

.The combination of decreasing relative humidity through the
afternoon and very gusty wind gusts behind a departing cold front,
will allow for a narrow window of Red Flag conditions Monday
afternoon. However, limiting factors will be temperatures
trending much colder also during the afternoon, and the potential
for at least some added surface moisture from scattered showers
during the morning hours.
