This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for west central Minnesota, north
central South Dakota and northeast South Dakota.
.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.
Freezing rain is expected across portions of north central and
northeast South Dakota and west central Minnesota this morning into
early this afternoon before temperatures warm up enough for
precipitation to fall as rain.
Very strong northwest winds are expected this afternoon through
tonight. Sustained winds in excess of 40 mph, gusting in excess of
60 mph, are expected over north central South Dakota this afternoon
into tonight. Over northeast South Dakota and west central Minnesota
sustained winds in excess of 30 mph, gusting in excess of 50 mph,
are expected from early this evening through the overnight hours.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday.
If falling snow happens across far northeast South Dakota Tuesday
night into early Wednesday morning while these strong winds are
happening, considerable blowing snow and reduction to visibility
could be possible.
