This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for northwest Colorado, southwest
Colorado, west central Colorado, east central Utah, northeast Utah
and southeast Utah.
.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.
A strong spring cold front continues marching through the area today,
bringing heavy mountain snow and valley rain. In areas where the
front has already passed through, convective showers and
thunderstorms will develop this afternoon. Impact to travel will be
limited to the higher passes and mountain corridors mainly during
the night time hours. Colder temperatures will result in freeze
potential in areas where vegetation is susceptible.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday.
Snow continues over the higher terrain through the day Saturday, with
another round of convective afternoon showers and storms possible.
Cold temperatures the next several nights will bring more chances for
freezes where sensitive Spring vegetation has developed. Warmer and
quieter conditions return next week.
.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
Spotter activation is not expected today or tonight, however
spotters are encouraged to report snowfall amounts to the
National Weather Service in Grand Junction.
