...WIND ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 PM CST THIS EVENING...
* WHAT...For the Extreme Cold Warning, dangerously cold wind chills
as low as 6 above. For the Wind Advisory, northwest winds 10 to 20
mph with gusts up to 40 mph expected.
* WHERE...Portions of south central and southwest Alabama and
northwest Florida.
* WHEN...For the Extreme Cold Warning, until noon CST Sunday. For
the Wind Advisory, until 9 PM CST this evening.
* IMPACTS...Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree
limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.
Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin is
exposed to these temperatures. Temperatures this cold can possibly
damage unprotected outdoor plumbing.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...This will likely be an extended duration cold
event where temperatures fail to make it above freezing today,
especially over interior counties near and north of the Highway 84
corridor. Temperatures may remain below freezing for up to 36
hours. Wind chills during the day today may stay in the upper
teens to lower 20s areawide.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high
profile vehicles. Use extra caution.
Dress in layers including a hat, face mask, and gloves if you must

Cleburne, Coosa, Elmore, Lee, Macon, Montgomery, Pike, Randolph,
Russell, Talladega, and Tallapoosa Counties.
