...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Texas...

  Nueces River Near Asherton affecting Dimmit County.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

Even 6 inches of fast-moving flood water can knock you off your feet
and a depth of 2 feet will float your car. Never try to walk, swim,
or drive through such swift water. If you come upon flood waters,
stop, turn around and go another way.

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

...FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL EARLY SUNDAY MORNING...

* WHAT...Major flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Nueces River near Asherton.

* WHEN...Until early Sunday morning.

* IMPACTS...At 29.0 feet, Widespread major flooding threatens
  livestock over a large area of the flood plain. A mile of Farm to
  Market 190 near the river is flooded and flow is within a foot of
  the Farm to Market 190 bridge floor over the Nueces River. The
  Nueces River and Turkey Creek are a mile and a half wide south and
  west of Carrizo Springs.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 12:30 PM CDT Tuesday the stage was 29.9 feet.
  - Bankfull stage is 18.0 feet.
  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
    ending at 12:30 PM CDT Tuesday was 30.1 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage
    Saturday afternoon and continue falling to 17.5 feet early
    Sunday afternoon.
  - Flood stage is 20.0 feet.
  - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
    30.0 feet on 10/19/2018.

* IMPACTS...At 7.0 feet, Moderate lowland flooding closes Farm to
  Market 1581 near Derby.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 12:30 PM CDT Tuesday the stage was 8.2 feet.
  - Bankfull stage is 6.0 feet.
  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
    ending at 12:30 PM CDT Tuesday was 9.3 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage
    late tomorrow morning and continue falling to 3.9 feet early
    Sunday afternoon.
  - Flood stage is 6.0 feet.
  - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
    9.0 feet on 09/24/2018.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast.
  This approaches the flood of record.

* WHERE...Frio River at Tilden.

* WHEN...Until late Saturday night.

* IMPACTS...At 29.2 feet, This is similar to the flood on June 9
  1937. The restaurant had 3 feet of water inside. Numerous homes
  were flooded.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 3:15 PM CDT Tuesday the stage was 22.7 feet.
  - Bankfull stage is 12.0 feet.
  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending
    at 315 PM CDT Tue Jul 21 2026 was 22.7 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 28.4 feet
    early tomorrow afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage
    late Saturday morning.
  - Flood stage is 22.0 feet.
