The Winter Weather Advisory will be allowed to expire at 4 PM this
afternoon. Light snow showers will continue in the higher elevations
of the advisory area for the next few hours, with little to no
additional accumulation expected. Check quickmap.dot.ca.gov for road
conditions before mountain travel.

...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 PM PST THIS
AFTERNOON...
* WHAT...Snow. Additional snow accumulations up to 3 to 6 inches
above 6500 feet. At lake level and below 6500 feet, 1 to 2 inches
of snowfall may be possible. Winds gusting as high as 50 mph along
the ridges, with gusts up to 35 mph at lake level.
* WHERE...Greater Lake Tahoe Area.
* WHEN...Until 4 PM PST this afternoon.
* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions
could impact the Monday morning commute. Gusty winds could bring
down tree branches. Small boats, kayaks and paddle boards will be
prone to capsizing and should remain off lake waters until
conditions improve.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Slow down and use caution while traveling. The latest road
conditions for the state you are calling from can be obtained by
calling 5 1 1. Consider postponing boating activities on the lake
until a day with less wind.
