...Elevated Fire Danger This Afternoon to Early Evening...

WHAT...Breezy winds from the northwest at 15-25 mph with gusts to
30-35 mph, dry surface vegetation, and low relative humidity
between 20 and 30 percent will lead to elevated fire danger today
through this afternoon to early evening.

WHERE...Portions of western and central Iowa

WHEN...Until 8pm tonight

IMPACTS...Any fires that ignite will spread rapidly and could become
uncontrolled.

PREPAREDNESS AND PRECAUTIONARY ACTIONS...Burning is discouraged under
these conditions. Also, take care to prevent the start of accidental
fires when smoking or operating vehicles around dry vegetation.
