This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for northwest Iowa, west central
Iowa, southwest Minnesota, northeast Nebraska, central South
Dakota, east central South Dakota, south central South Dakota and
southeast South Dakota.
.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.
South winds gusting 25 to 35 mph are expected along and west of
Interstate 29 this afternoon. Modest humidity levels as low as 35
to 45 percent should keep widespread fire weather concerns at bay.
However, the gusty winds could produce locally elevated fire danger,
especially in areas with drier grasses or crops.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday.
Breezy southerly winds continue much of this week with afternoon
gusts 20 to 30 mph, strongest west of Interstate 29. The gusty winds
and low afternoon humidity levels could result in locally elevated
fire weather concerns, especially where drier grasses are located or
fall harvest activities are underway.
.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
Spotter activation is not expected at this time.
