* WHAT...Heavy lake effect snow. Additional snow accumulations
  between 2 and 8 inches. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph.

* WHERE...Potter County.

* WHEN...Until 1 AM EST Saturday.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions
  could impact the Thursday evening and Friday morning commutes.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The heaviest snow will fall later tonight and
  Friday.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

During lake effect snow, the weather can vary from bands of locally
heavy snow to dry weather just a few miles away. Visibilities can
also vary greatly. Be prepared for rapid changes in weather,
visibility, and road conditions.

* WHAT...Heavy lake effect snow expected. Total snow accumulations
  between 6 and 12 inches with locally higher amounts possible.
  Winds gusting between 25 and 35 mph at times.

* WHERE...McKean and Warren Counties.

* WHEN...Until 1 AM EST Saturday.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult to impossible. The
  hazardous conditions could impact the Thursday evening and Friday
  morning commutes.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in
your vehicle in case of an emergency. The latest road conditions for

...LAKE EFFECT SNOW WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1 AM EST
SATURDAY...

* WHAT...Heavy lake effect snow occurring. Additional snow
  accumulations of 6 to 15 inches. Winds gusting as high as 40
  mph.

* WHERE...Southern Erie and Crawford counties.

* WHEN...Until 1 AM EST Saturday.

* IMPACTS...Whiteout conditions are expected within lake effect
  snow bands and will make travel treacherous and potentially
  life- threatening. The hazardous conditions will impact the
  Thanksgiving holiday travel.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The heaviest snow bands will continue to
  occur over southern Erie and northern and central Crawford
  Counties through Friday. Peak snow rates of 1 to 2 inches per
  hour within snow bands are expected through early Friday.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in
your vehicle in case of an emergency.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and Pennsylvania
Turnpike Commission strongly encourage motorists to heed all
travel restrictions and delay unnecessary travel. Visit
www.511pa.com for the latest travel, roadway, and traffic
conditions.

During lake effect snow, the weather can vary from bands of
locally heavy snow to dry weather just a few miles away.
Visibilities can also vary greatly. Be prepared for rapid changes
in weather, visibility, and road conditions.

Persons should delay all travel if possible. If travel is
absolutely necessary, drive with extreme caution and be prepared
for sudden changes in visibility. Leave plenty of room between
you and the motorist ahead of you, and allow extra time to reach
your destination. Avoid sudden braking or acceleration, and be
especially cautious on hills or when making turns. Make sure your
car is winterized and in good working order.

* WHAT...Heavy lake effect snow. Additional snow accumulations 12 to
  24 inches in the most persistent lake snows. Winds gusting as high
  as 45 mph will produce blowing and drifting snow.

* WHERE...Jefferson, Lewis, Wyoming, Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, and
  Southern Erie Counties. The greatest accumulations off Lake Erie
  will be found across the higher terrain of the Chautauqua Ridge,
  northern Cattaraugus County, Boston Hills, and southwest Wyoming
  County. The greatest accumulations off Lake Ontario will be found
  across the Tug Hill Plateau.

* WHEN...Until 1 AM EST Saturday.

* IMPACTS...Travel will be very difficult with snow covered roads
  and poor visibility. The hazardous conditions will impact
  Thanksgiving holiday travel. Gusty winds will down tree branches
  and cause isolated power outages.

Heavy snow will fall in relatively narrow bands. If traveling, be
prepared for rapidly changing road conditions and visibilities.
