8 PM EDT WEDNESDAY FOR THE LOWER SUSQUEHANNA VALLEY...

* WHAT...Dangerously hot conditions with heat index values over 105
  expected for the Lower Susquehanna Valley.

* WHERE...Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Lancaster, Lebanon,
  Perry, and York Counties.

* WHEN...From 11 AM this morning to 8 PM EDT Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during
  extreme heat and high humidity events.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Heat index values and the associated risk of
  heat-related impacts will be highest on Monday and Tuesday.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay out of the sun, and stay in an
air-conditioned room.

Check up on relatives and neighbors, and provide pets with adequate
water and shelter from the sun.

Extreme Heat can be life-threatening among at-risk populations, such
as children, the elderly, and those with pre-existing health
conditions.

In addition to the daytime heat, overnight low temperatures will
also be very warm and oppressively muggy.

* IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during
  extreme heat and high humidity events.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and
Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in
shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat
should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an
emergency! Call 9 1 1.

* WHEN...From 8 AM this morning to 8 PM EDT Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during
  extreme heat and high humidity events.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The hottest temperatures and heat indices
  will occur Monday and Tuesday. Low temperatures near 75 to 80
  degrees and high humidity will not offer much relief from the heat
  at night.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car
interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.

If you do not have air conditioning in your home or lack shelter,
