...LAKE EFFECT SNOW BAND...

HAZARDS...A lake effect snow band which can rapidly reduce visibility
to less than a quarter of a mile. This lake effect snow band is
producing very heavy snow at the rate of 0.5 to isolated locations
of 2 inches per hour.

LOCATION AND MOVEMENT...At 259 PM EST, a lake effect snow band was
near Fonda moving east at 30 MPH.

THIS LAKE EFFECT SNOW BAND WILL BE NEAR...
  Duanesburg around 320 PM EST.
  Schenectady and Rotterdam around 330 PM EST.
  Scotia around 335 PM EST.
  Niskayuna and East Glenville around 340 PM EST.
  Colonie around 345 PM EST.
  Albany around 350 PM EST.

This includes the following highways...
 Interstate 88 between exits 22 and 25.
 Interstate 90 between exits 10 and 30.
 Interstate 890 between exits 1a and 9.
 Interstate 87 between exits 23 and 7, and between exits 8A and 12.
 Interstate 787 between exits 1 and 9.

moving east AT 50 MPH.

Locations impacted include...
Nottingham, Rindge, Hampstead, Sandown, New Castle, Jaffrey, Candia,
Derry, Kittery, Eliot, Hudson, Wilton, Fitzwilliam, Hampton, Troy,
Chester, Newton, Mason, Amherst, and Allenstown.

This includes the following highways...
 Interstate 293 between mile markers 1 and 11.
 Interstate 93 between mile markers 0 and 33.
 Interstate 95 between mile markers 1 and 7.
 Interstate 95 in New Hampshire between mile markers 1 and 16.

This also includes...
  Mount Monadnock, North Pack Monadnock, and Hampton Beach.

  * Visibilities will drop quickly to less than a half mile in this
  area of heavy snow showers.

  * Snow that accumulates on the road can create slick conditions
  even if nearby roads are wet.

Conditions can deteriorate rapidly in winter weather situations. Be
prepared for snow or ice covered roads. Slow down and allow extra
time when traveling.
