QUALITY FOR Ada, Adams, Canyon, Gem, Payette, and Washington
Counties...

* WHAT...Air Quality Advisory because of degraded air quality due to
wildfire smoke.

Air Quality Index is forecast to be Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups.

* WHERE...Ada, Adams, Canyon, Gem, Payette, and Washington Counties.

* WHEN...UNTIL 3 PM MDT MONDAY.

* IMPACTS...Members of sensitive groups may experience health
effects. The general public is not likely to be affected.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Air pollutants can cause breathing difficulties for children, the
elderly, as well as persons with respiratory problems. Those
individuals who are sensitive to increased particulate matter or
smoke are encouraged to avoid prolonged or strenuous outdoor
activity during this advisory. Open burning is prohibited by air
quality rule. It is also recommended that all other individuals
limit prolonged or strenuous activity outdoors.

QUALITY FOR Harney and Malheur Counties...

* WHAT...High concentration of smoke particulates from wildfire
  smoke.

* WHERE...Northern Harney and Malheur Counties.

* WHEN...UNTIL 9 AM PDT MONDAY.

* IMPACTS...Smoke can irritate the eyes, lungs and worsen some
  medical conditions. People most at risk to adverse health effects
  include infants, young children, people with heart or lung
  disease, older adults, and pregnant women.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Smoke levels can change rapidly depending on
  weather. Check current conditions on the Oregon Smoke Information
  Blog, DEQ`s Air Quality Index, or by downloading the free
  OregonAIR app on your smartphone.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

* Stay inside if possible. Keep windows and doors closed.

* Avoid strenuous outdoor activity.

* Use high efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filters in indoor
  ventilation systems or portable air purifiers.

* Be aware of smoke in your area and avoid places with the highest
  levels.

* If you have heart or lung disease, or asthma, follow your

...AIR QUALITY ALERT IN EFFECT...

The Montana Department of Environmental Quality has issued an air
quality alert for Beaverhead, Deer Lodge, Granite, Ravalli, and
Silver Bow counties in effect until 8AM 9/8/2024 elevated particulate
levels from wildfire smoke This alert will be updated again at 800am
9/8/2024.

An Air Quality Alert means that particulates have been trending
upwards and that an exceedence of the 24 hour National Ambient Air
Quality Standard (NAAQS) has occurred or may occur in the near
future.

As of 8AM, Particulate levels in Hamilton are Unhealthy for Sensitive
Groups

As of 8AM, Particulate levels in Butte, Dillon are Moderate

When air quality is Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups... State and local
health officials recommend that people with respiratory or heart
disease, the elderly and children should limit prolonged exertion.

When air quality is Moderate... State and local health officials
recommend that unusually sensitive people should consider reducing
prolonged or heavy exertion.
