...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in
Michigan...

  Rifle River near Sterling affecting Arenac County.

For the Rifle River...including Sterling...Minor flooding is
forecast.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

The next statement will be issued this evening at 1130 PM EDT.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Rifle River near Sterling.

* WHEN...Until late Saturday evening.

* IMPACTS...At 9.0 feet, High water begins to impact campground at
  White`s Canoe Livery at Melita Road bridge.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 10:30 AM EDT Wednesday the stage was 6.1 feet.
  - Bankfull stage is 4.5 feet.
  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
    ending at 10:30 AM EDT Wednesday was 8.4 feet.
  - Forecast...The river will fall below flood stage this
    afternoon to 5.3 feet just after midnight tonight. It will
    then rise above flood stage early tomorrow afternoon to 8.1
    feet early Friday afternoon. It will fall below flood stage
    again Saturday afternoon.
  - Flood stage is 6.0 feet.
  - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
    8.0 feet on 03/31/1988.

* WHERE...Manistee River near Sherman.

* WHEN...Until further notice.

* IMPACTS...At 16.0 feet, Flooding of property and homes adjacent to
  right bank of river along Ojibway Drive, Ottawa Drive, and
  Chippewa Drive 1 mile north of Sherman.  Flooding of N11 Road
  between W14 Road and W16 Road 1 mile northwest of Mesick.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 10:45 AM EDT Wednesday the stage was 16.0 feet.
  - Bankfull stage is 14.0 feet.
  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
    ending at 10:45 AM EDT Wednesday was 16.0 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to fall to 15.0 feet
    Wednesday, April 09.
  - Flood stage is 15.0 feet.
  - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
    16.0 feet on 03/18/1990.

...The National Weather Service in Grand Rapids MI has issued a
Flood Warning for the following rivers in Michigan...

  Muskegon River at Newaygo affecting Newaygo County.

  Muskegon River at Bridgeton affecting Newaygo County.

.Another round of rain currently falling across the Muskegon River
basin will put another 1.0 to 1.5 inches of rain into the watershed.
This will likely push portions of the river near Newaygo and
Bridgeton slightly above minor flood stage in the coming days.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.

* WHEN...From Thursday afternoon to Wednesday, April 09.

* IMPACTS...At 11.0 feet, The river starts exceeding its banks and
  minor flooding begins in low lying areas along the river.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 9:45 AM EDT Wednesday the stage was 10.1 feet.
  - Bankfull stage is 10.0 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
    early tomorrow afternoon to a crest of 11.4 feet Friday
    morning. It will then fall below flood stage Tuesday evening.
  - Flood stage is 11.0 feet.
  - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
    11.5 feet on 04/30/2020.

  - At 10:00 AM EDT Wednesday the stage was 11.2 feet.
  - Bankfull stage is 12.0 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
    Friday morning to a crest of 13.4 feet early Saturday
    morning. It will then fall below flood stage early Tuesday
    morning.
  - Flood stage is 13.0 feet.
  - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
    13.4 feet on 04/19/2019.
