* Timing...from 9 AM this morning to 10 PM CDT this evening.

* Wind...West at 40 to 55 mph with gusts up to 80 mph. Isolated
  gusts to 90 mph will be possible across the Caprock.

* Humidity...As low as 8 percent.

* Fuels...Critically dry.

* Impacts...Any fires that develop will spread rapidly and will
  have the potential to grow into dangerous wind-driven wildfires
  that will be difficult or impossible to control.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Avoid all outdoor burning and take extreme care to avoid any
activity that may cause a spark. Do not drive your vehicle over
grassy areas or dry vegetation. Report fires to local authorities
immediately.

FOR THE NORTHEAST AND EAST CENTRAL PLAINS DUE TO EXTREMELY STRONG
WINDS AND LOW HUMIDITY...

.While humidity will increase tonight, winds will continue
strengthen through Friday morning with gusts reaching 70 to
80 mph across the northeast and east central plains of New Mexico
by Friday afternoon. Humidity will also plummet again Friday
afternoon, and the combined high winds will result in critical
fire weather with a high risk for rapid and explosive fire
growth.

* AREA AND TIMING...This includes the Northeast and East Central
  Plains (Zones 104 and 126) Friday between noon and 8 PM.

* 20 FOOT WINDS...On Friday, west winds of 40 to 55 mph with
  gusts of 70 to 80 mph.

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...Minimum humidity values between 12 and 18
  percent.

* IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly
  and will be hard to control. Long range spotting and extreme
  fire behavior will be possible. Outdoor burning should not be
  done.
