.An atmospheric river is moving toward the panhandle Saturday
afternoon, and will persist into Sunday. This system will deliver
heavy rainfall to the southern and central panhandle beginning
Saturday afternoon and continuing through Sunday morning, with the
greatest rainfall amounts across the southern panhandle. Rainfall
rates taper off through Sunday afternoon. High wind gusts 60 to 70
mph are also expected Saturday night, with the highest wind gusts
across the southern panhandle.
Heaviest rainfall rates are currently forecasted near 6pm Saturday
through 11pm Saturday for southern Prince of Wales and Ketchikan.

...FLOOD WATCH NOW IN EFFECT THROUGH SUNDAY MORNING...
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.
* WHERE...The following areas, Prince of Wales, Southern Inner
Channels and Central Inner Channels. This includes the cities of
Petersburg, Craig, Klawock, Hydaburg, Coffman Cove, Thorne Bay,
Wrangell, Ketchikan, And Metlakatla.
* WHEN...Through Sunday morning.
* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, other low-lying areas and flood-prone locations.
Storm drains and ditches may become clogged with debris.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- This watch is in effect due to forecasted 3 hour rainfall
rates exceeding 0.75 inches per hour Saturday night and storm
total rainfall near 8 inches for the mountains/higher terrain
by Sunday night.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood
Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared
to take action should flooding develop.
Isolated landslides are possible in areas of steep terrain.
