WEDNESDAY...

* WHAT...Heavy snowfall and blowing snow is expected. Significant
  blowing and drifting snowfall is possible along the highway
  summits with severely reduced visibility. Additional snow
  accumulations of 3 to 6 inches. Winds gusting as high as 45
  mph.

* WHERE...White Mountains and High Terrain South of the Yukon
  River, Upper Chena River Valley, Chatanika River Valley and
  Two Rivers.

* WHEN...Until 4 AM AKDT Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult to impossible. Areas
  of blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...With the heavy snowfall and strong winds
  blizzard like conditions are possible with visibilities near
  zero.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Winter Storm Warning means significant amounts of snow, sleet
and ice are expected or occurring. This will make travel very

AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Snow showers continue. Additional snow accumulations of
  up to two inches. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph.

* WHERE...Eielson AFB and Salcha, Goldstream Valley and Nenana
  Hills and Fairbanks Metro Area.

* WHEN...Until 4 PM AKDT this afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult to impossible.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The Fairbanks area could see snow squalls
  this evening. This would bring heavy snow and strong winds.
  Visibility during these squalls will be significantly reduced.
  With additional snowfall and strong winds, trees and power lines
  could be knocked over causing power outages.

WEDNESDAY...

* WHAT...Heavy snow and blowing snow. Additional snow
  accumulations of 1 to 3 inches tonight, then 3 to 6 Wednesday
  and Wednesday night. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph.

* WHERE...Central Brooks Range.

* WHEN...Until 4 PM AKDT Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult to impossible. Areas
  of blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Heavy snow continues from Atigun Pass south
  today, with an additional 1 to 2 inches of snow falling through
  tonight. Flow shifts to the northwest on Wednesday resulting in
  3 to 6 inches of snow falling over the north facing slopes of
  the Brooks Range north of Atigun Pass.
