This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for west central Minnesota, north
central South Dakota and northeast South Dakota.
.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.
A storm system will bring a wintry mix of rain, freezing rain, and
snow to the area today and tonight. East to southeast winds will gust
in the 30 to 40 mph range, helping to create reduced visibility in
falling snow. A Winter Storm Warning is in effect.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday.
The winter storm will continue through the day Wednesday. Total snow
accumulations will be in excess of 6 inches from the Leola Hills
across far northern Brown county eastward into west central
Minnesota. Northerly winds will gust in the 30 to 40 mph range,
helping to create reduced visibility in falling snow. The Winter
Storm Warning will remain in effect through the day Wednesday.

A storm system will bring a wintry mix of rain, freezing rain, and
snow to the area today and tonight.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday.
The winter storm will continue through the day Wednesday. Total snow
accumulations will be in the 1 to 3 inch range, though slightly
warmer temperatures could result in more rain and less snowfall.
Northerly winds will gust in the 25 to 35 mph range.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of western South
Dakota and northeastern Wyoming.
.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight
A strong weather systems will bring some light accumulating
snowfall to the northeast Wyoming plains, and the western South
Dakota plains, tonight into Wednesday morning. Up to 2 inches of
accumulation will be possible, mainly across northeast Wyoming and
northwestern South Dakota.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday
The strong storm system will affect the area through early
Wednesday afternoon, before shifting east Wednesday evening.
Another weaker system will move through the area Friday afternoon
and evening, bringing light rain and snow to the area. Little
snow accumulation is expected across the plains with this system.

Winter Storm Warning in effect this afternoon through Wednesday
evening. Mixed precipitation and heavy snow, mainly late this
afternoon, evening and overnight. Travel impacts expected.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday
Heavy snow expected Wednesday with an 80 percent chance for 6
inches of snow and a 60 percent chance for 8 inches or more snow
through late Wednesday evening. Widespread travel impacts are likely.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of northwest Iowa,
west central Iowa, southwest Minnesota, northeast Nebraska,
central South Dakota, east central South Dakota, south central
South Dakota, and southeast South Dakota.
.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight
Rain and snow will move northeast through the area this morning.
The better chances for accumulations will be north of Interstate
90 and especially around highway 14 where one to three inches of
snow will be possible near and east of De Smet. Areas closer to
Interstate 90 should see less than an inch.
Late this afternoon into the evening a few strong thunderstorms
could develop with nickel sized hail the main threat. The better
chance will be south of a Yankton to Spencer Iowa line.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday
Scattered rain and snow showers will be possible on Wednesday but
amounts should remain on the light side. Late tonight and early
Wednesday morning a small band of an inch or two will be possible
but confidence is low.

A band of heavy snow will move across Minnesota and western
Wisconsin this afternoon and evening. Snow will continue through
much of the night across central Minnesota, with a mix of sleet
and freezing rain possible late tonight as well. The highest snow
totals of 5 to 7 inches are expected over central Minnesota, where
snow is expected to the last the longest. See winter weather
statements for additional information on this winter storm.

Snow will linger into Wednesday morning across central Minnesota.
