...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in South
Dakota...

  North Fork Whetstone River near Milbank affecting Grant County.

.For sites with a river forecast, the forecast includes
precipitation through the next 24 hours. Any future precipitation
could affect the forecasts.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

* WHEN...Until further notice.

* IMPACTS...At 1056.0 feet, significant agricultural flooding begins.
  At 1060.0 feet, water reaches the bottom of the bridges on 145th
  Street and 480th Avenue.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 1:15 AM CDT Friday the stage was 1058.1 feet.
  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
    ending at 1:15 AM CDT Friday was 1058.1 feet. Recent trends
    show the river appears to have crested.
  - Flood stage is 1056.0 feet.

    ending at 12:15 AM CDT Friday was 1043.0 feet. Recent trends
    show the river appears to be cresting.

  Minnesota River at Granite Falls HWY 212 affecting Chippewa,
  Yellow Medicine and Renville Counties.

  Minnesota River at Morton affecting Redwood and Renville Counties.

  Minnesota River at Montevideo affecting Chippewa, Lac qui Parle
  and Yellow Medicine Counties.

.After widespread rainfall over the last few days, we expect to see
a gradual increase in flow. Additional forecast rainfall nearing an
half inch to three quarters of an inch this weekend should also
contribute to increased flow.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood

    feet tomorrow evening.

    884.9 feet on 10/13/2017.

  from backing up into streets.

  - At 900 AM CDT Friday, the stage was 15.7 feet.
  - The river is nearing crest.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 15.9
    feet tomorrow afternoon.
  - Flood stage is 14.0 feet.
  - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
    15.9 feet on 07/11/1995.
