Subject: Temporary Suspension of Ocean Prediction Center`s 72-
and 96-hour surface graphical products effective June 1, 2026

Effective Monday, June 1, 2026, the National Weather Service
(NWS)`s Ocean Prediction Center (OPC) is temporarily suspending
its 72- and 96-hour surface forecast graphical products.

This temporary suspension is necessary for developmental
improvements advancing seamless marine weather services across
NWS. Meanwhile, 72- and 96-hour wind and wave graphical products
will continue to be produced from the NWS`s National Digital
Forecast Database (NDFD)(https://digital.weather.gov) for
decision support and heavy weather avoidance. Alternatively, the
NDFD can be accessed for graphical forecasts of winds, wind
gusts, wave heights, and other weather-based hazards over the
oceanic domain.

2026

The NWS is committed to delivering timely, accurate, and
impactful weather and water services to protect lives and
property and enhance the national economy.

This temporary suspension is necessary due to the urgency of
meeting higher short-term organizational and stakeholder
priorities. The NWS will continue to keep the public informed
about significant changes through Public Information Statements,
while providing as much lead time as possible.

We always value feedback on our critical products and services.
