...WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 1 AM TO 10 PM EST WEDNESDAY...

* WHAT...Heavy mixed precipitation expected. Total snow
  accumulations between 4 and 8 inches and ice accumulations up to
  one tenth of an inch. Locally higher snow amounts possible. Winds
  gusting as high as 35 mph. Highest snow amounts will be near the
  Lake Huron shoreline.

* WHERE...Alpena, Cheboygan, Emmet, Montmorency, and Presque Isle
  Counties.

* WHEN...From 1 AM to 10 PM EST Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...Roads will become slick and hazardous due to the wet
  snow. Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions
  could impact the Wednesday morning and evening commutes.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in
your vehicle in case of an emergency.

Persons should delay all travel if possible. If travel is absolutely
necessary, drive with extreme caution and be prepared for sudden
changes in visibility. Leave plenty of room between you and the
motorist ahead of you, and allow extra time to reach your
destination. Avoid sudden braking or acceleration, and be especially
cautious on hills or when making turns. Make sure your car is
winterized and in good working order.

  a light glaze. Locally higher snow amounts possible. Winds gusting
  as high as 35 mph.

* WHERE...A portion of Eastern Upper Michigan.

* WHEN...From 1 AM to 10 PM EST Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...The strong winds and weight of snow on tree limbs may
  down power lines and could cause sporadic power outages. Travel
  could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the
  Wednesday morning and evening commutes.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

  between one tenth and one quarter of an inch. Winds gusting as
  high as 35 mph.

* WHERE...A portion of Northern Lower Michigan.

* WHEN...From 1 AM to 7 PM EST Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will
  likely become slick and hazardous. Power outages and tree damage
  is possible due to the ice. The hazardous conditions could impact
  the Wednesday morning and evening commutes.
