...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 AM EST THURSDAY...

* WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 7 and
  12 inches with locally higher amounts between 12 to 14 inches
  along the south facing slopes of the Adirondacks in Herkimer and
  Hamilton Counties.

* WHERE...Hamilton, Northern Fulton, and Northern Herkimer Counties.

* WHEN...Until 7 AM EST Thursday.

* IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will
  likely become slick and hazardous. Travel could be difficult. The
  hazardous conditions could impact the Wednesday evening and
  Thursday morning commutes.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snowfall rates between 1 to 2 inches per hour
  likely through the early afternoon. Additionally, lake effect snow
  showers continue into the day on Thursday bringing light
  accumulations between 1 to 3 inches.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in
your vehicle in case of an emergency.

Be prepared for slippery roads. Slow down and use caution while
driving. If you are going outside, watch your first few steps taken
on stairs, sidewalks, and driveways. These surfaces could be icy and
slippery, increasing your risk of a fall and injury.

* WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 2 and
  5 inches for elevations below 1000 feet and between 6 to 12 inches
  for elevations above 1000 feet.

* WHERE...Bennington and Western Windham Counties.

* WHEN...Until 1 AM EST Thursday.

* IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will
  likely become slick and hazardous. Travel could be difficult. The
  hazardous conditions could impact this morning and evening
  commutes.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snowfall rates between 0.5 to 1 inch per hour
  likely through the early afternoon. Additional upslope snow likely
  develops overnight and continues into Thursday night.

* WHAT...Snow expected. Total snow accumulations today between 2 and
  4 inches with higher amounts 4 to 8 inches north of I-90, the New
  York State Thruway. For the lake effect snow Thursday through
  Friday, additional snow accumulations of 3 to 6 inches are
  expected.

* WHERE...Southern Herkimer County.

* WHEN...Until 7 AM EST Friday.

* IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will
  likely become slick and hazardous. Plan on slippery road
  conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Wednesday
  evening and Thursday morning commutes.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snowfall rates between 0.5 to 1 per hour
  likely through this early afternoon, specifically for locations
  north of I-90, the New York State Thruway. Along I-90 in Herkimer
  county, a mix of rain/snow will develop before transitioning over
  to all rain this afternoon into this evening. Additionally, lake
  effect snow showers develop overnight and continue into Thursday
  with light snow accumulations between 1 to 3 inches.

Slow down and use caution while traveling.

During lake effect snow, the weather can vary from bands of locally
heavy snow to dry weather just a few miles away. Visibilities can
also vary greatly. Be prepared for rapid changes in weather,
visibility, and road conditions.
