Showers over the western counties will move mainly to the north this morning before a cold front moves in from Ohio. The front will touch off widespread showers and thunderstorms. Some of those thunderstorms could make heavy rain and damaging wind gusts. A tornado or two may also occur, mainly over the western half of the Commonwealth today. Winds away from the storms will also be gusty. Gusts as high as 45 and 50 MPH are expected on the high terrain of the north, Laurel Highlands, and in the Lower Susquehanna Valley. Additionally, many places will see near an inch of rainfall from the numerous showers and thunderstorms. Expect streams to fill up in some locations, especially where the majority of the rain falls in just a few hours. The front will reach the Delaware Valley in the late evening hours. Most of the showers and storms will be to the east before midnight, but may linger near Philadelphia until closer to sunrise Monday. Scattered showers over the western high terrain tonight may turn to snow. No accumulations are expected. Highs will be between 60 and 70 degrees, with the warmest spots being Pittsburgh and Philadelphia. Temperatures will fall back into the 20s in the northwest tonight, but still be close to 50 degrees in the morning on Monday in the southeastern piedmont. The weather should be uneventful on Monday with any lingering showers ending and the northwest wind gusting into the 20s. Temperatures will only climb a few degrees through the day, reaching highs in the upper 30s in the northwest and lower 50s in the southeast. $$
