.SYNOPSIS FOR MID ATLC WATERS...Tropical Storm Chantal is
strengthening and is centered near 31.9N 78.7W at 5 PM EDT.
Chantal is moving toward the N at 6 kt, and will move to 33N
79.3W by 2 AM EDT Sun, move inland over the Carolinas to near
34.1N 79.6W at 2 PM EDT Sun and weaken to a tropical depression,
and then remain inland and move to near 35.3N 79.0W by 2 AM EDT
Mon while becoming a weak post-tropical cyclone. Please monitor
the latest information from the National Hurricane Center.
Otherwise, a stationary front over the central waters will
persist tonight into Sun as high pressure slides off to the E of
the NE waters. The front will likely dissipate while lifting N as
a weak warm front later Sun into Sun night. The waters will then
likely remain between high pressure centered E of the region and
a low pressure trough just inland from the coast Mon into Thu. A
cold front will approach from the N and NW Wed night, and likely
stall just N of the area Thu and Thu night.
