Fire Weather Planning Forecast for West Texas/Southeast New Mexico
National Weather Service Midland/Odessa TX
129 PM CST Tue Jan 20 2026

.DISCUSSION...

Near to slightly above average temperatures, ERCs in the 50th to
74th percentile, and min RH near critical 15% and breezy 20-ft winds
at times in the afternoon will be offset by good to excellent
overnight recovery, winds still staying relatively light, and
temperatures remaining near average. Below average temperatures,
widespread chance of cold rain and freezing precipitation Friday and
Saturday, and continued below average temperatures into early next
week with min RH staying above critical will lead to low fire
weather conditions for the end of the week into early next week.
