Fire Weather Planning Forecast for S MS and SE LA
National Weather Service New Orleans LA
1234 PM CDT Sat Jul 5 2025

There was a bit more fog this morning than anticipated, but
lingering smoke particles from earlier fireworks displays likely
played a role. Thus, not expecting any significant fog impacts
tonight/tomorrow morning. However, patchy light fog will be
possible around daybreak, mainly across southwestern Mississippi
and adjacent areas in southeastern Louisiana. Moisture will begin
to increase tomorrow as low level winds become more southerly.
This will result in both a higher coverage of afternoon showers
and thunderstorms and an increase in minimum RH values into the
55 to 65 percent range through the work week.
