Fire Weather Planning Forecast for the Florida Keys
National Weather Service Key West FL
441 AM EST Sun Jan 18 2026

.Discussion...
A cold front currently draped across Georgia/Florida Panhandle
extends southwestward through the Gulf and into the Bay of
Campeche. This front will continue moving southeastward through
the day. Moisture pooling ahead of the front will result in
chances of showers for today with slight chances for tonight and
drier air infiltrates the Keys. Dry air will dominate for Monday
leading to near nil rain chances. Breezes will also sharply
increase out of the northwest to north this afternoon after the
front passes through. Breezy to windy conditions are then expected
to prevail through Monday becoming north to northeast later in
the day. Much cooler, drier, and less humid will follow in its
wake. Min RH values are expected to be in the upper 70s percent
today and in the mid 50s percent for Monday with good RH recovery
overnight to near 100 percent.
