.DISCUSSION...
A bitterly cold air mass will overspread central and southeast IL
this morning, with very cold condtions prevailing through at least early
next week. Brisk north to northwest winds will gust from 25 to 30 mph
this morning, and gradually weakening during the afternoon. A winter
storm system will likely spread snow across central and southeast IL
during Saturday, and continue through Sunday, diminishing from the west
during Sunday night. Moderate to heavy snowfall is expected especially
from I-72 south where several inches could accumulation. Fair vent
rates will occur today, with poor vent rates prevailing this weekend
with weaker winds and lower mixing heights.
