Hogan, Chief Office of Future Readiness, Service Advancement Division Subject: Experimental Graphical Hazardous Weather Outlook (GHWO) Will Transition to Operational Status on or about October 30, 2026 The experimental GHWO will transition to operational status beginning October 15, 2026 with completion on October 30, 2026. This transition will include the addition of OCONUS Weather Forecast Offices (WFOs). The GHWO provides weather hazard information through a web-based display on a public-facing web page, generated by the local Weather Forecast Offices (WFOs)/Weather Service Office (WSO). Specific weather hazards are placed in a matrix-style table with a daily clickable colored forecast button. Most weather hazard elements are available up to 7 days into the future. Each colored forecast button in the matrix displays the highest forecast risk associated with that specific forecast element. The forecast element matrix displays daily hazard forecasts for each weather element. The matrix shows the highest risk level for each element that is located across the WFO s County Warning Area (CWA) for the forecast day. A complete listing of the unique web link for each WFO is included in the Product Description Document (PDD).
