.DISCUSSION...
Cool and wet weather is expected across the West Coast and Western
Interior the next few days, with highs only rising into the mid
to upper 50s most places through Friday and with moist min RH
values. Rain over the West Coast and the westermost parts of the
Interior will shift east today as a front and associated low
move inland. Rain should end in coastal locations by late this
evening, with most of the heaviest totals likely from the eastern
Kotzebue/Norton Sounds eastward. Interior locations could see
additional rainfall approaching half an inch through Thursday
night, with parts of the Western Brooks Range seeing amounts near
or exceeding an inch. South winds in the Western Interior of 5 to
10 mph ahead of the front will switch to north to northwest around
10 to 15 mph on the backside of it as it shifts east today and
tomorrow. The front will reach Nome around 7 AM AKDT today and
Unalakleet by around 10 PM.
