.DISCUSSION...
Relatively warm and dry weather is expected in the Western
Interior through Monday north of the Lower Yukon Valley, with
highs in 60s and 70s and relatively high minimum relative humidity
values falling into the 40s by Monday. Scattered showers with
isolated thunderstorms will be possible during this time frame in
the western Brooks Range and western Alaska Range. Most other
areas are likely to remain dry. The Lower Yukon Valley west and
along the coast of Norton Sound will receive widespread wetting
rains beginning Monday morning as a low moves into the Bering.
Moving into Monday night and Tuesday, while confidence is lower, some
of this rain could spread into areas further north, meaning much
of the Western Interior north of the Lower Yukon, especially
areas closer to the coast, could also see scattered to numerous
showers and chances for wetting rains. As this band of rain moves
inland, southeast winds over the YK Delta could potentially be
upwards of 20 mph at times, with less intense but still stronger
winds over southern parts of the Western Interior.
