.DISCUSSION...
A cooling trend is expected across Western Alaska through much of
this week, with showery weather expected each day. Isolated
thunderstorms will be possible over the northwestern Interior this
evening and could bring brief heavy rain and gusty winds. Highs
in the 60s and 70s across most of the Western Interior today will
fall into the 50s and 60s Sunday and the 50s from Monday through
midweek. Coastal locations will mostly have highs in the 50s from
Sunday onward. Minimum RH values will also broadly rise above 60
percent from Sunday onward. As a front moves into Western Alaska
Sunday into Monday, numerous to widespread showers will cross the
area, leading to high chances for wetting rains, and especially in
the southern Seward Peninsula, northwestern Interior, and along
the southern slopes of the western Brooks Range. Continuing
showers will occur in the area through midweek as Pacific moisture
streams into the area.
