.DISCUSSION...
Moderate to heavy rain is likely this afternoon through Sunday
morning across Western Alaska. Expect a widespread 0.25 to 0.50"
across the Western Interior and along the coast. Higher totals up
to 1.00" are possible in the higher terrain of the Seward
Peninsula, and from the Upper Kobuk Valley north. Another round of
rain, this time accompanied by strong south/southwest winds is
expected Monday and Tuesday. Many areas may receive upwards of 1"
of rain or more. Winds will be strongest along the coast,
potentially gusting 40 to 50 mph, with 20 to 30 mph gusts inland.
Temperatures will remain cool with highs largely in the 50s and
60s. No significant fire weather danger is expected for the
foreseeable future.
