.DISCUSSION...
Red Flag Warnings will continue for the Upper Kobuk and Lower
Koyukuk for hot/dry/windy conditions through 10 PM tonight.
Temperatures stay hot through Saturday with widespread readings in
the mid 80s north of Kaltag and low to mid 70s south of Kaltag.
The coastal areas will be in the mid 60s to mid 70s. The minimum
RH values will follow a similar pattern with areas north of Kaltag
in the low to mid 20s to mid 30s, and south of Kaltag in the 40s
and 50s. Winds are expected to be light with the exception of in
the Kobuk/Koyukuk Valley on Thursday when gusts may be as high as
25 mph. Most of the winds will be from the east with the exception
of the Coastal areas receiving Sea Breeze effects.
Thunderstorm chances are expected from the Nulato Hills to the
tip of the Seward Peninsula with an isolated storms as far south
as Russian Mission. There could be widely scattered thunderstorms
due to orographic lift in the terrain north and west of Nome.
Isolated storms continue to be possible from Ruby/Huslia to the
Seward Peninsula tomorrow afternoon, then cover a bit more area in
the Western Interior on Saturday.
