.DISCUSSION...
Showery conditions continue along the West Coast and Western
Interior today, but lighter than Friday with lower chances of
wetting rain for the Western Interior. There is a slight chance
for isolated thunderstorms developing early this afternoon east of
Huslia and McGrath. Strong northerly winds along the coast weaken
and shift northwesterly overnight tonight. Sunday is relatively
dry with mostly scattered showers and lower chances of wetting
rain. It is however the calm before the storm as Monday sees a
coastal storm approach the West Coast bringing high surf to the
coast, strong southerly winds, and significant rainfall with 1 to
2 inches expected for much of the West Coast and Western Interior
Monday and Tuesday. Wednesday the storm center begins to move into
the Western Interior and weaken. This will shift winds more
northwesterly and cause rain amounts to diminish.
Cooler temperatures in the 50s today warm with the coming coastal
storm into the upper 50s Monday and to around 60 Tuesday. Minimum
RHs fall slightly into the 60s Sunday and 50s Monday before
rising again with the coastal storm.
