...DISCUSSION FROM RNOFWFVEF...

GUSTY WEST-SOUTHWEST WINDS WILL SPREAD ACROSS MUCH OF THE REGION
TODAY AND TONIGHT IN RESPONSE TO A PACIFIC SYSTEM SLOWLY MOVING
INLAND THEN PULLING AWAY OVER THE ROCKIES SUNDAY. THE STRONGEST
WINDS WILL OCCUR NEAR THE SOUTHERN SIERRA AND THE SPRING MOUNTAINS.
HIGH ELEVATION SNOW WILL BE CONFINED NEAR THE SIERRA CREST. ANOTHER
SYSTEM WILL MOVE ACROSS THE REGION THROUGH THE FIRST HALF OF NEXT
WEEK, RESULTING IN CHANCES FOR WIDESPREAD RAIN AND MOUNTAIN SNOW.

...DISCUSSION FROM LAXFWFSGX...

INCREASING HUMIDITY TODAY, WITH WESTERLY WINDS GUSTING UP TO
35-40 MPH IN THE MOUNTAIN PASSES, PEAKS, AND DESERT SLOPES THROUGH
THIS AFTERNOON. OTHERWISE, MOSTLY LIGHT WINDS WILL PREVAIL THROUGH
EARLY NEXT WEEK. INCREASING MOISTURE AND COOLER WEATHER THIS
WEEKEND AND INTO EARLY NEXT WEEK WILL LIMIT FIRE CONCERNS, WITH
PRECIPITATION FOR THE MOUNTAINS. SNOW LEVELS WILL REMAIN HIGH,
GENERALLY ABOVE 7000 FEET, BUT THE HIGHER TERRAIN COULD SEE UP TO
AN INCH OF RAIN TODAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY. ELSEWHERE, PRECIPITATION
AMOUNTS WILL BE EXTREMELY LIGHT.

...DISCUSSION FROM PHXFWFPSR...

WARM AND DRY CONDITIONS WILL PREVAIL TODAY WITH HIGHS AROUND 5 TO
8 DEGREES ABOVE AVERAGE. INCREASING CLOUD COVER WILL RESULT IN
SLIGHTLY COOLER TEMPERATURES BEGINNING SUNDAY. RELATIVE HUMIDITY IS
EXPECTED TO FALL BELOW 15% THIS AFTERNOON, BUT IS EXPECTED TO
INCREASE TO AROUND 20-35% REGIONWIDE ON SUNDAY. OVERNIGHT RECOVERY
WILL RANGE FROM POOR TO FAIR ACROSS THE LOWER DESERTS TONIGHT AND
INCREASE TO WIDESPREAD FAIR TO GOOD ON SUNDAY NIGHT. OVERALL LIGHT
WINDS WILL CONTINUE WITH ONLY SOME PERIODIC LIGHT BREEZES OVER THE
HIGHER TERRAIN IN THE AFTERNOON AND EARLY EVENING.
