368 FXUS65 KVEF 292256 RRA AFDVEF Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Las Vegas NV 356 PM PDT Tue Jul 29 2025 .KEY MESSAGES... * With a few exceptions, dry conditions along with seasonal temperatures will continue into next week for most of the region. && .DISCUSSION...through Monday. Much of the region will continue to see dry conditions along with seasonable temperatures into the weekend as dry, southwesterly flow aloft remains in place. There continue to be a few exceptions to this, the first of which is along the Sierra in the northern half of Inyo County. Modest moisture in place along the crest, along with upslope flow this afternoon and evening, will result in a few isolated thunderstorms developing. This activity should remain anchored along the crest, and no storms are expected down in the Owens Valley. Similar activity is expected tomorrow afternoon before drier air moves in for the remainder of the week. Later in the week, monsoonal moisture over Arizona will shift a bit further west. PWATs over far southern and eastern Mohave County increase to around .75" by Friday afternoon, leading to a 10 to 20% chance of afternoon storms. However, this slight increase in POPs will be short-lived as the dry southwesterly flow scours out the moisture by the weekend. && .FIRE WEATHER...Southerly winds across northern and eastern portions of Lincoln County will approach Red Flag criteria tomorrow afternoon. RH values will fall to around 10% during the afternoon, but given the marginal winds expected and limited coverage, I have elected not to issue a Red Flag Warning at this time. Borderline conditions will continue into Thursday, but once again, no products are anticipated at this time. Modest RH recovery can be expected overnight, with values increasing to 15 to 20%. While no products have been issued, elevated fire conditions will exist, and extreme caution is advised. && .AVIATION...For Harry Reid...For the 00Z Forecast Package...Southwest winds with intermittent gusts to 20 knots will continue through sunset before diminishing. Similar wind conditions are expected tomorrow, except the southeast winds seen this morning are forecast to be more southerly, followed by gusty southwest winds in the afternoon. VFR conditions prevail through tomorrow under mainly clear skies. Temperatures are expected to exceed 100F between 20-03Z once again tomorrow. For the rest of southern Nevada, northwest Arizona and southeast California...For the 00Z Forecast Package...South to southwest winds will continue in most areas into this evening, with occasional gusts to around 15-20KT. Exceptions are across the Western Mojave, where winds will maintain more of a westerly component, with gusts to around 25KT developing this evening, and in the Owens Valley, where southeasterly up-valley winds will gust to around 25KT persist into the early evening, before turning back to the north. Elsewhere, winds will decrease around sunset and remain less than 12 kntos overnight. VFR conditions will prevail into Wednesday. && .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...Spotters are encouraged to report any significant weather or impacts according to standard operating procedures. && $$ DISCUSSION...Planz AVIATION...Planz For more forecast information...see us on our webpage: https://weather.gov/lasvegas or follow us on Facebook and Twitter
