Area Forecast Discussion
National Weather Service Las Vegas NV
300 PM PDT Wed Jul 30 2025

.KEY MESSAGES...

* Dry conditions, seasonal temperatures, and afternoon breezes
will continue into next week for most of the region.

&&

.DISCUSSION...through Tuesday.

It should remain dry through early next week as moisture remains
locked in to the south. A shortwave moving into central Nevada
through this evening could trigger isolated showers or
thunderstorms in far northern Inyo and Esmeralda counties, however
impacts could be limited with no moisture or significant instability
to work with. By Thursday afternoon, this wave will lift northeast
into northern Nevada and precipitation chances will remain north of
the area. The rest of the forecast features only weak features and
even drier air as the flow remains westerly.

Breezy south to southwest winds have developed across the region in
response to the incoming shortwave, with widespread gusts 20-30MPH
reported. On Thursday as the shortwave moves east, continued breezy
winds are expected. Impacts are not expected on Thursday as winds
will be similar or slightly stronger than today but the probability
for gusts over 40 MPH remains 10% or less. Afternoon winds combined
with dry conditions will result in elevated fire weather concerns in
Mohave County Thursday afternoon, but wills should generally remain
under Red Flag conditions. A few higher elevations areas such as the
Hualapai or Mt Trumbull could hit Red flag where winds will be
slightly stronger, but widespread high fire danger is not expected.
Breezy afternoon winds are expected at times through next week, but
Thursday should feature the strongest winds and no impacts are
expected through the period.

With a fairly stagnant weather pattern, temperatures will remain
near normal and will only change a degree or two up or down each day.
