.KEY MESSAGES...

* Temperatures will continue to warm through next week as ridging
  pushes into the region.

&&

.DISCUSSION...through next week.

Ridging will continue to push into the region from the southeast
over the next few days, which will allow for temperatures to
increase a few degrees each day as 500 mb heights increase. With
southwesterly flow aloft, dry conditions are expected to persist
into next week. This southwesterly flow will also transport smoke
and haze from the Madre Fire in Southern California into Inyo
County and portions of southern Nevada over the weekend. A
shortwave will move through the Great Basin around mid-week, which
may cause temperatures to decrease a degree or two from Wednesday
to Thursday as high-cloud cover increases and 500 mb heights
decrease slightly. Forecast uncertainty increases as we move into
the latter half of next week due to uncertainty regarding how
quickly the ridge will rebound, which will determine how hot we
get as we head into next weekend.
